Homestay Families
The best way to experience authentic Costa Rican culture is to live with a homestay family. The AIFS Study Center is located in a small town in the province of Heredia and each and every family is known by the school. Families are chosen based on their hospitality, friendliness and warmth.
Your family will give you your own key so that you can come and go as you please – just remember to let your homestay mom know if you won’t be home otherwise she’ll worry.
You will have your own room, weekly laundry service and receive three meals a day – families expect that some of the food will be a little different to what you’re used to so feel free to let them know what you like and do not like. If you have any special dietary requirements let us know in advance so that we can explain this to your family.
All of the families are within walking distance of the school or a short bus ride away if you prefer.
