Accommodations in Salamanca
AIFS students with their homestay family
Students studying on an AIFS Partnership program in Salamanca can choose to live with a Spanish family or in a shared apartment.
Homestay Families
Students wishing to immerse themselves in the language and culture can choose to stay with a local homestay family. Students may be housed with a retired older couple whose children have left home, a single-parent family or maybe a young professional couple.
Students have the option of sharing a twin room with another AIFS student or an individual room. Meals usually include breakfast and lunch – the main meal of the day in Spain and a weekly laundry service is provided. Families are located throughout the city with walking distances to the AIFS Study Center varying between 10 and 30 minutes.
Homestay families are carefully vetted and students’ living situation is monitored by AIFS throughout the program. Should any problems arise students can be moved quickly and easily by contacting the AIFS Program Coordinator.
Student Apartments
AIFS students can also opt to live in an apartment during their stay in Salamanca. Students can choose to share a room with another AIFS student or request an individual room. Each apartment usually houses 4-6 students and is for the exclusive use of AIFS students.
Apartments are fully furnished with shared kitchen, bathroom and living room facilities. A cleaning service is provided once a week. Apartments are located between 5 and 30 minutes from the AIFS Study Center.
